My father has pastored the same evangelical church for the past 30 years. Because I grew up attending this place of worship, many of the church’s members feel like family members to me. For this reason, my heart broke recently when I learned that a fire completely destroyed some church members’ home. I have known the devastated older couple since I was a child. Thankfully, no one was injured in the fire and the husband is a licensed contractor who plans to begin rebuilding the home soon.
